Vantage Studios: Ubisoft's New Venture with Tencent Takes Control of Major Franchises
Ubisoft and Tencent have initiated Vantage Studios, focusing on the development of blockbuster titles like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
The launch of Vantage Studios marks a significant shift for Ubisoft, envisioned by both Ubisoft and Tencent. Described as a ‘creative house’, the studio will oversee the future of major franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
In light of this change, Ubisoft emphasizes that the new studio combines the talents of thousands of experienced developers across several locations such as Montreal and Barcelona. This initiative aims to enhance the relationship between developers and players, thereby improving game quality and responsiveness to feedback.
A notable feature of this new entity is the leadership. It is jointly headed by Charlie Guillemot, the son of Yves Guillemot, alongside Christophe Derennes, a veteran in the industry, having served at Ubisoft for over 35 years. As this transformation unfolds, further insights will be unveiled during Ubisoft’s upcoming financial report, expected on November 13.
